This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Masaomi anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

[He shrugs the one shoulder again. Masaomi will decide for himself how to go about reuniting with her, and maybe he'll get what he means then. And avoid a second round at seven thousand volts.]

[It's a non-sequiter. It's debatable if anyone will be able to follow what he means, but be means the encounter with Korras Blake]

[He's on a painkiller, so. No, he's not following.]

[When Shikamaru makes no response, he lets it sit for a moment before he adds-] Finding Korras Blake-san, I mean. If fate was kinder, it'd've been you.

Oh. [Dumbly. Because maybe he should've gotten that. He breathes in deeply.] What'd they do to him?

[Because he wasn't there, but he'd heard things. Brought in was the term, and he's tried not to think about it (despite his suspicions back there) but between Ino (who was at the hospital) and Masaomi's word choice he knows it can't have gone well.]

They beat him up. The man was out cold with blood on 'em when I saw him.

[He inhales and exhales] Told me they didn't have a choice.

[He's barely moved since Masaomi got in here, but with those words he's stiffens, jaw set.]

Who.

I don't know his name, some middle aged guy with a beard.

[He sighs and leans back in the bean-bag chair] Didn't have a choice.

[He grunts that out, bitterly]

[Shikamaru drums his fingers on his leg with sudden restless irritation.

This on top of what he heard went down at the hospital? About Lucetians getting preferential treatment?

He pops a knuckle, one at a time.]

[Aaaand... a smile creeps up on his face. A bright, flippant smile. It in no way reaches his eyes (his eyes always betray him) but he adopts a jovial tone, next]

Maaaah~ He had a pretty solid jaw too. I think I might need to do that too!

Tested that out already, huh?

Heeeeh, you know me. Of the two of us, I've the temper.

[His eyes are swimming with indignation, but his tone and his smile is still broad and amused]

Stupid. [He sighs, and watches the wall now.] Heh. But I wouldn't have stopped you.

[He's glad you did.]

I wouldn't have let you stop me.

[With a wink.]

[He does grin at that, maybe too wide.]

[And he smirks now, it actually meeting his eyes slowly]

We're doing our best, right?

[Me and you. Katara. Responsibility. He thinks back to what his chat with Davis was like]

[He trails off and rubs a hand over his eyes, but remembers the question.]

Yeah. You're doin' real good.

[And he lets this trail off a moment before-] I wonder if Jewel still thinks I'm cute.

[JUST A... WAYWARD THOUGHT.]

[--he can't help it, he laughs at that. Snorts through the nose even. Maybe it's because he just wasn't expecting it, but that's the funniest thing he's heard in a week.]

She flirt with you again...?

[generalflirt]

No, not at all! I was surprised! I'm not sure if she saw me!

[He groans and then flops his arms back, dramatically. And he siiiighs. Though it gets more serious here, his tone is still flippant-]

The good Specialist Davis says that she's on probation. Apparently, being mind controlled by a creepy nihilistic weirdo does things to you.

[He's still stuck on the other part of that, trying to stifle a fit of chuckles.]

If you get on good terms... maybe she could give you her fingernail clippings. It'd be like diamonds right? You could make a ring.

Oh man, how romantic would that be?! A necklace made of a girl who's all over the Love Hunter?!

[And he starts to laugh. In earnest]

[He really can't stop snickering.]
