This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Masaomi anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

[And he starts to laugh. In earnest]

[He really can't stop snickering.]

That's funny. [Heheh.] I don't know what Kenya is.

Poor country from Earth. Doesn't matter- [He waves his hand, still laughing]

Whatever you say. [He'll take your word for it, because this is nice. He'll wonder later why he thought it was so funny, but it feels good to laugh.]

Hahahaha~! [He wiggles his fingers now in front of him, still laughing. Everything's been terrible but- it's good to be with his best friend npw]

[That goes on for a while. For Shikamaru, at least until he doesn't have the breath to keep it up and he's too tired to work out a better punchline.

His arm doesn't hurt so much right now, which is good. He thinks he could take a nap like this, but he's probably forgetting something...]

Hey Masaomi?

Yeah, boss?

[he is smiling by now and almost reaching his eyes]

[His voice is light.] When we said we'd see each other at the end of that, I made a bet that you'd make it back okay. It's the only one I made that worked out.

[generalflirt]

Hey, give me some credit. We're not heroes, remember?

[With a smile, still]

I know, I know. That was what I was trying to say. I'm proud of you, you know?

[He sighs, content, and closes his eyes.] I don't know what I'm doing here anymore. But I know what kind of man you are because I've seen you grow into it. I think if anything... at least that's been worth it.

Maaaah...

[After a while. He does not know how to respond to that one, at all. His smile is sort of light and his eyes are still... hard. Oh well]

[There are other things too, he thinks. It's hard not to be proud about how his friendship stands with Katara, after every hit that relationship took. And he's learned things... some of it's paid off.

Maybe Temari...? He's not sure.

When he looks back on it, he doesn't think he has a lot to be proud of in Luceti. Not this draft, for one, and plans wasted. But it can't all have been for nothing and he's set that those things should count. Three things and a half. He's partially dozing by the time he's gotten that far, but ends up talking just to keep idle conversation.]

Let's go visit Silver tomorrow.

But I know exactly what you're doing. [He closes his eyes as he says this, quietly. And he nods] But alright, that sounds fun.

[endgames]

[He cracks an eye open at that, then shuts it again. He's glad someone does. Because he's about ready to give up on this.

He won't ask though. He wants to maintain this high for at least tonight.]

I'll tell you later, but we're fighting the good fight. [and now he rummages in his pocket for it - the gift Shikamaru gave him and that he held as dear as Kataa's bracelet. That weird lighter he loves-

There's one new dent in it. Well, "dent" - they look like teeth marks which somehow embedded lightly in the metal. That is a long and weird story.

Either way, he's tossing it at Shikamaru's head]

[Not expecting it, it bounces off his head and onto the adjacent couch cushion.]

Ow... [He nearly shoot Masaomi a mean look, until he sees what it is and instead just smiles fondly. Okay, for that he'll make the effort of moving. Kinda half falls over getting it, but he got it. This is a good subject change.]
