Masaomi wakes up on the 19th (post event), and starts his day as normal (well aside from waking up a bit later than normal) until he realizes WAIT, WHAT about two or three different things all at once. He promptly gives up any semblance of a normal morning, instead opens his journal and writes/draws the following entry:]

Well, the barracks are right by my house. We could meet in there. Toph even made a basement for it once.

Now that the Battle Dome is here, the barracks isn't as busy as it used to be.

[And she will...! ...Set after the Law thread and possiblt an unposted Shikamaru thread and everything on here plus the Gold thread Masaomi is making it there. As it is, "thirteen hours" comes out to being in the mid-later morning. He's somewhat hungover (albeit also recovered some from that) and has... a Pichu (with a little tuft of hair to more resemble Gold) on his shoulder. He's still getting used to it, but bonding is important... right...

So. He's there. He's in a hooded jacket but for once (while it isn't snowing or something) has the hood actually up]

[Well, the barracks is practically just across the road from her, so she's there first. She's pulled out one of the wooden horses to make a place to sit, and her parka rests on the side next to her. She's just testing to see how comfortable this thing really will be when Masaomi enters.]

Hey. [And her eyes widen at the Pichu almost immediately.] What's that?

Oh ah... she's... [How does he even describe this. He glances at the surprisingly well-balanced Pichu who smiles at him and then seems to nod. He then looks back at Katara] My new partner, it seems.

[Thumbs up??]

[Huh? Katara slides off the horse and comes to kneel a few paces away from the Pichu.]

Hi, there. [To the Pichu. And then a glance at Masaomi.] What's her name?

[NO, THIS IS NOT AVOIDANCE, THIS IS THE PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE RESPONSE TO YOU BRINGING IN A CUTE THING.]

[Masaomi glances at the Pichu again. She's still smiling, but he knows that might not be a good thing! Do note him having electrical burns on his chin from yesterday. They've healed a little... but.]

Ah... it's Linda. I named her. [Linda puffs out her cheeks a bit at that. It's a bit of a weird name, but then... this is her trainer...] Gold hatched her for me.

[It is a weird name and Katara only vaguely noted that burn. But hearing about Gold makes her realizes what Linda must be. As a result, she does not extend her hand, but looks at Linda with a mix of curiosity and respect.]

So you're a Pokemon, are you? It's nice to meet you, Linda. I'm Katara.

[...Linda you better not mess with her. Linda doesn't though, despite Masaomi's slightly sidelong look. she just looks proud a moment, and a little electricity fritzes around her cheeks (well, the discharge ports on them)]

[And Katara's eyes go wide at that.]

Oh wow.

[...and a little apprehensive, actually. She knows the kind of damage electricity can do.]

Ah...haha, yeah, electricity is her specialty.

[His hair is actually being attracted now. this is just static right now]

[She looks at him, now zeroing in on that burn, and then at Linda again. Her face is serious.]

That's a very impressive skill. You'll have to be careful with it.

[And then she streams a little water out of the waterskin at her side, and has it rotate in her hand to show the Pokemon.] Mine's water, see?

[And then Katara will move to stand. After seeing that burn, you can guess what's coming next.]

[He can. and he actually looks warily at Linda's reaction. Linda, not sure how to handle a human using what looks like a Water Pulse just sort of settles into a more challenging, contemplate, maybe even competitive expression. She does, however, look over at her trainer to give the word first. to be nice. He gives her a look of warning, and she seems to pout. but just keeps up the stare]

[As she stands, the water moves from floating above her hand to coating it like a glove, and Katara lightly places that hand on his chin for a moment. She hates burns. Especially electrical ones. They bring back so many bad memories.

But it only takes a moment for her - the water glowing lightly in the process of the soothing healing - to make these minor ones fade into nothing but healthy, smooth skin. And this warning is for both of them, really.]

I won't always be around to help make burns better.

[And she moves her hand back down to her side, streams the water into the waterskin.]

[He's still slightly hung over for the record so there might have been that to sense if it comes over in Chi. But either way, he wiggles his jaw.
