[She might, some part of him can't help but think, but that's immaterial right now. It's not like she has the power to stop him]

[She's still standing there, watching him because - what. And then what?

He's right. She doesn't want him to come. It's small and it's selfish, but she could break down by Chouji and she knows he could with her - if he ever would in front of anyone - but she can't in front of Masaomi, not in the same way. And she knows Chouji won't.

But. She does know that Chouji really likes seeing his friends. And if he's not just too angry about Shikamaru being taken... she knows he'll be glad Masaomi came to see him.

So she won't ask him to wait.]

You're right. He'd be glad to see you. But if he's upset or starts to get tired, then I'm going to have to ask you to leave. I don't want anything slowing down his recovery.

[And his eyes harden. As he's closer now, it's obvious - this door is showing signs of there having been a scuffle, if not a full on break in. And if Chouji was... well, things are bad, aren't they?]

[Something is very wrong here. Katara's wary as she walks in - not really worried about Masaomi doing the same - he has eyes doesn't he - but nothing prepared her for this.]
