He's gone out on crutches a few times so far, but nothing much and rarely for very long, still thinking about the fighting and all. But-]

[Let's see, two bowls... You know what, Gold wants chips too, dammit. Make that three bowls. Can't have a soda without some chips.]

[Except it is. He's just saying this for the sake of it, with a smirk]

[And because Katara can see this spinning off into 'and just why is that?' and 'because you hit on girls' and an entire speech on why hitting on girls is wonderful and every guy should do it... she just shakes her head and takes another sip of her soda.]

You could ask me the same... [And in fact, if he's looked closely there are tell-tale signs that Katara has not been sleeping well. She doesn't wear a lack of sleep well, and there are faint shadows under her eyes, her movements are the slightest bit slower than normal. Seeing one of your closest friends practically bitten in half will cause nightmares, even if you're only witness to the wounds. But she smiles at Masaomi.] But I asked you first.

[And she takes a sip of her soda. Clearly, that settles it.]

[With a little eyebrow arch. As for noticing things - well. He does take in the sluggishness, not the eyes. He's not looking at her face enough to notice the look of not-sleeping. But the movements - well those are plain as day to him. Same as how he keeps glancing - glaring, really - back at his injured leg]

[A light sigh and she shakes her head.] What are friends for?
