[ So Masaomi got back from his two missions... just in time to get that announcement from the Red Guy. And you know what, after that announcement, a conversation with Red he had earlier in the month, the fact it is the end of the month, and how mad Linda got at a certain animal on one of the missions they were just on-- it seems like it's time. His efforts with Cilan and the others have reached a fair enough point that it seems like they can do it and- ]

Ladies...! And gentlemen. [ Linda, on his head, chimes in that she would like to make it clear that your lady preference is not necessarily reflected in her and this is her limelight, thank you. To which he laughs.

Either way, the video opens up to see Masaomi and Linda sitting against a large rock at the North end of town approaching the forest's edge, but near the river. They have propped the journal up against something so that it can record them - and given the angle, they've clearly tested the positioning. Masaomi's in just a light jacket over a tank-top (so his wings are a tad exposed) with with real pants because it's too cold to afford to be out in just that even if he had just been working out one last course with Linda in her current form. He's holding ... a Thunderstone. Linda's looking a bit excited too ] Today, we've reached an important point in the life of my partner here, and we're going to show off just what she can do! Namely, [ and he tosses the stone in the air, catches it, and then motions for Linda to get off his head. Which she does, to get up on top of the rock ] it's time for her evolution.

[ Linda, ever one to have an ego, preens a bit at this, puffing out her chest and her cheeks a bit too ] After all, her momentous evolution to this stage was recorded... quite a while ago now, from a charming moment between the two of us! [ HEY. ] And it was public! A glorious one which could bring a tear to a man's eye... [ SHUT UP ALREADY. ] Buuuut. This one's on a bit of a day everyone needs to do their own packing, so consider this your entertainment while you do.

[ She's more than entertainment you know... But then he turns to her, smiles, and winks. She huffs a little, and averts her gaze. But then she looks back and nods. He steps closer to her, and makes to dance the stone above her, before pressing it onto her head ]

I, Masaomi Kida, by the duties of the trainer hereby knight you, the beautiful and powerful Lady Linda... [ Wow, wow shuuuut uuuup you were cool for a bit there, but this... ] to the next stage of life! So we can go on and have adventures. [ Why are you being this corny in front of everyone noooo-- in fact. She can't handle it anymore- she starts to glow white as the evolutionary process begins, but then the video is caught off in the form of her leaping past Masaomi and tackling the journal shut just as the process begins to take hold. Because she is not going to be embarrassed further. He makes a little bit of a protest when she does, but...

[ The answer comes a good twenty odd minutes later. Masaomi answers it, snuggling here with a much larger (more like two and a half feet tall, than a foot) pokémon - chubbier, orange, and looking very powerful even as compared to the confident yellow one which used to be there. She's also a bit huffy to still be being embraced while he's reached out to answer it, but too excited to protest too much ]

Sheee evolved. Or well, was evolving.

[Ginia's mornings are pretty busy so she doesn't catch the video until the afternoon.]

[ By now, he's back in the Battle Dome! Him and Linda are here together. Linda is now a Raichu as described above but the camera focuses first on Masaomi's face, sweaty - he winks and then shifts the camera over to Linda, who's praciticing on some targets. And she's reveling in her new power - her tail's fork is stabbed into the soil to ground herself, but she's long-distance punching Thunderbolts out of her cheeks towards the targets. Her aim is a little poor right now, but the power shows ]

[Aang looks on in shock. It's been so long... she's evolving once more?]

[ For Aang, it's Linda who answers, about twenty minutes later. With her giving a loud mouse sound and waving. Albeit her face is too close to the book so the paw might not show in it - but that face is clearly different, it's now a Raichu's ]

[That... is actually quite the wait. After a few minutes of silence, Aang starts walking towards where the video could possibly be sent from. He still remembers the first time Linda changed, but he can't remember what the next step after the Pikachu's supposed to be.

Soon when he notices Linda appear, he stops to look into the book again and smiles.]

Linda! You- you grew again? [She definitely looks different - but still adorable in a way.]

What? Pokémon can change forms TOO?

[SIGH. One more thing that's weird about this world. And then with slightly less volume:]

That might have been one of those good-to-know pieces of information before I started trying to make Poké Balls.

[Not that it would have actually helped per se, but it would have definitely helped him have one more benchmark about how absurdly weird this otherworldly science stuff actually was.]

You didn't even know that, my man? [ He snickers at this, twenty odd minutes after the initial video. Him and Linda are now standing side by side, looking confident in some sort of buddy cop pose. Linda's a good two and a half feet tall, now. A Raichu. ]

... Yes. Of course, I did. I was just screaming about it to see who was actually fooled by it.

[Well now this is encouraging to see! People from other worlds who actually take care of their Pokemon properly to the point that they get to evolve!]

Congratulations. Evolution is always a wonderful event, for both trainer and Pokemon. I never get tired of seeing it.

[Honestly there's plenty of other things they should be focusing on right now. Buuuut. John did say they wouldn't be starting until tomorrow morning, and it's not like Shikamaru can't make a shadow clone to pack for him (even if he feels out of practice with the jutsu). Besides, he understands how important this event has to be to Masaomi. Moreso Linda. They got that thunderstone quite a while ago; they've struggled and worked hard, strengthening their partnership to the point they'd feel like they could use it today.

Knowing he'd regret if he missed it, given all that, Shikamaru came along. He found a rock to sit on and observe from, keeping quiet throughout the ceremony up until Linda tackles Masaomi's journal, mid-evolution.]

Ha! Even she got tired of your bullshit.

Hey, Linda?! Come on~! We were showing off!

[ He says this with some wide eyes here, trying to get her off the journal - but then he's whacked with her tail as a result of him trying to get close to her. It's because her tail is now quite long and thin - more whip like. Or more accurately, more like a thick wire. It's solid now, having gotten to the Raichu stage. Her ears are curved now too- and the white glow fades as she's now much larger ... and orange ]

[Wow wow Masaomi, give the lady some space. Shikamaru hopes that didn't hurt much. So much for puberty though. That'll make Linda a lot harder to carry. Shikamaru stays right where he's at, folding his hands behind his head.]
