[Shikamaru and Masaomi have tag-teamed to procure the items. Their quest begins later on, as they allowed for a number of days for preparation and quietly looking around/enjoying the sights before then.
Threads for seeing them pull off any of these ten capers or being involved in them are first-come, first-serve (put the item in the subject head or body of the reply if you want) but if you want to just encounter them in the periods between any of them in any zone or after they complete them all, hanging out somewhere... maybe even run into them while lost in C1 if they're at their apartment, those are unlimited. [Shikamaru and Masaomi have tag-teamed to procure the items. Their quest begins later on, as they allowed for a number of days for preparation and quietly looking around/enjoying the sights before then.
At Shikamaru's suggestion, the first days of the scavenger hunt are spent in observation rather than gathering items. CJ let it drop there was a five day allotment and that they had to keep the items the entire time; waiting just seemed smart.
So they get started on the second to last day. At the Space Opera they have some Tang and trade something that is distinctly not Tang for some ray guns. For the robot, they found something even more effective than an off switch. Who knew flights of stairs would be so deadly?
From there they swipe a jetpack and head to the Shogunate. Neither one of them are manly enough to take on a samurai in pitched combat, so they resort the theft. Or rather Hidan does. While the angry samurai are off looking for him, they'll meet and greet some kappa. Masaomi uses the powers of meta to get the water from their heads.
In Gangland, they dress up some energy drinks as booze in exchange for the tommy guns. While the gangsters there are distracted by that, Linda uses the powers of attraction to get some studebaker keys.
At The Nile, having caught on to the priest's weakness to cute things, they take advantage of small children for the daggers. They face the traps for the treasure with the powers of Rube Goldberg.
The Ice Age is last. Their grand plan to defeat a smilodon?? ...feed it. The cavemen going to war, meanwhile, are happy to exchange their bone spears for the retractable spearsHidanShikamaru has for them. With little time left until the scavenger hunt ends, the rest is a popcorn fest.

[Yo, welcome to the treasure chamber. Those traps were a blast to get by, huh? There's a pretty snazzy looking ruby red jewel sitting on a pedestal in the middle of the chamber next to a sarcophagus. There are stone statues lining the walls and there are hieroglyphs everywhere. Pascal has been here for sometime now trying to work out what all the pretty pictures say while rushing around the chamber with a book on hieroglyphs in her hands. She's pretty engrossed in what she's doing, so Masaomi and Shikamaru go completely unnoticed.]
Pascal --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
dynamicduo has finally reached the treasure chamber!Since their apartment is in this area, Shikamaru ditched his costume for whatever came closest to plainclothes in this era he could find that he felt more comfortable in. While he notes Pascal is in here, he's also unusually focused and only concerned with what they came here for. Rude.]
Don't be hasty in here. If it looks obvious [he eyes that ruby] it's probably booby-trapped.
Pascal --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
Gus-Gus is right, I can smell the danger in this room.
Pascal --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
Hey guys, try not to stand there, there or there. And don't touch the statues. Actually, better just tip-toe around everything you see.
[It's hard to see where she's saying not to stand when she's still completely absorbed in the markings on the wall and is just waving to a vague part of the treasure room where something might happen.]
no subject
[Which, like the statues, is more than half of what's in here.
Her advice doesn't make a lot of sense without that, no, but Shikamaru's able to pick out the vague tells of the other traps with that minimal direction. He motions to each one, pointing them out more thoroughly for Masaomi and Linda's sakes.]
So the writing on the wall doubles as an instruction manual, Pascal?

Sifu! Shikamaru! What're you doing? Are you playing the game? Oh oh oh or are you exploring? I've been making a map!
Ikki --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
--I could've asked you that if you hadn't already explained. At least we have the excuse of living in this area.
Ikki --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
He's crouching on a rock actually, Linda's in her pokeball, which is dangling off one of his bangles]
Waaaiii, if it isn't Ikki.
Ikki --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
I've already done my area! And the one with all the people in suits and guns and stuff. Actually, that one kinda reminds me of Republic City in a way, you know? Not completely, but a little bit! Maybe 'cause it's more city-like than Luceti normally is. Look look look I have it here!
[ HERE SHIKAMARU HAVE A CRAYON MAP OF THE SHOGUNATE which is actually pretty accurate if you understand Ikki's landmarks which can be people as well as places. There are also a lot of extra flowers. She's started working on the Egypt section now, although the sand is pink in her rendition. ]

Gangland - Keys, featuring not he who was expected
Word on the street is there's a pair of guys looking for some keys.
[Of course, while they were in whatever building they were in, they might have gotten the sense that someone was nearby eavedropping on their conversation and very easily could have picked up the sound or smell of the bamf as he teleported out here.]
Kurt --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
Yeah. We left them in there.
Kurt --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
...that said the mouse on his head looks very unamused and bored]

Let's go for kappa hunting in the Shogunate!
When he spots the other two prize hunters, he grins, nodding his head just slightly in greeting.]
Oh? I can't say I'm surprised to see the two of you here.
Gai --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
I am.
[He notably already has his (samurai) sword. Sigh. This was saved for last because Masaomi said he had an idea that would make it easy.]
Gai --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
I'm surprised we're still here.
Gai --> Shikamaru --> Masaomi
[He doubts it, though. Masaomi is Japanese; he should be familiar with the tales.]

Raiding tombs, or just wandering the ruins? A familiar silver haired professor can be found here, in this manner of dress, with far too much energy that defies the temperature. She is carrying around a large bag of collected artifacts wherever she goes, but there may be various traps that were sprung in her wake. She's not very cautious - just lucky.
She doesn't linger too long in any particular areas, though she sometimes comes back around to revisit them - studying the patterns on the walls and cackling to herself in glee.]

You can't be serious.
[Goddammit, who came along and set off all these traps while they were in there?? Two giant swinging axes, a spike pit, and are those scorpions?
He looks more annoyed than threatened by these, but it's the crux of it all. 8|]

because I realized that would be easier to thread, this task is perhaps the simplest even if it requires the most patience. Getting the Smilodon teeth comes first; you have to wait for them to come to you for what he has planned.They've probably been waiting for nearly an hour, but it's paying off now. From the safety of a niche made in a cave wall, he can spot two smilodons approaching the large slabs of meat left on the ice.]
