This can be used to thread with Masaomi anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

Bona fide, huh? [Static does step forward to inspect the Pikachu. It's so different looking in real life. Less... cartoony. It's weird seeing actual fur.] So Pokemon just hatch here? Just like that? Cuz I haven't seen a daycare around here anywhere.

Every Valentines, there's an event where people fall in love. I guess last year, [Well, not the last-last one, the one before that, but whatever] it applied to the trainers' pokemon too. She's the daughter of Gold's Aitaro and Yellow-chan's Chuchu.

[AS he explains, Linda, for her part, just preens. It's not quite what she expected to be out of the ball for, but showing off her coat and appearance isn't that much of a bad thing. Even if she's rather be showing off her power but. No one told her to yet :T ]

Three others were born around the same time.

[systemshock]

... so a 'you had to be there for it' kind of thing. [Which means Static's chances of procuring a mascot electric pokemon? Slim to none.] Well she seems pretty cool. What level is she?

Level-? [Oh, right, he distantly recalls a - yeah, okay. He shifts his posture and shakes his head, grinning down at Linda before turning back to Static]

You know, if I knew, I'd tell you. I'm not even sure how I'd check, now I think of it.

[systemshock]

I guess I never really thought of that. [He looked back at the Pikachu again and it left him with the most pressing question of all yet.] So, you going to evolve it?

I've got a thunderstone ready, but I'm waiting on that.

[Linda, for her part, seems to pout at that. She feels so weak now what with the issues they're working with now, and she's prefer to be stronger, completed, evolved. She doesn't understand the drawbacks]

[systemshock]

Right. So she has all her moves first, right? Can they really only use four? That never made sense to me.

[generalflirt]

[Oh, he can answer that! In fact, he's pleased he can answer that, in fact adopts an explaining stance here, finger up and everything!]

The four's got to do with a proper battle style! Apparently, most leagues require you to only use four moves in battle, with the idea you'll come up with creative uses for those four. For people more skilled than me, it works well - I've seen Gold do some amazing things using four or less moves in a match.

Makes sense. Like the six Pokemon rule, right? [Well, that solves one of the mysteries that always plagued him. Of course, that means Richie was right. Crap.]

Yeah, I think that's a League thing too, but that one I'm less sure one. Could be cultural, but I've never seen it in person either way. All the people from the pokemon world here only have three pokemon, [a brief pause and-] I guess as a way to limit their powers the way everyone else has them limited.

[Which... he only connected just now, wow. That does make a lot of sense now he thinks of it]

... half Pokemon for half power?

[He's still getting used to being half power himself. It's interesting to think others are dealing with the same thing.]

I just thought of that now, but it makes sense. [Actually, it makes a lot of sense, now he thinks about it. He glances at Linda, who shrugs - why would she know?]

So if they only have three each, why'd they give you her?

[You don't just GIVE Pokemon away. It's not even an option in game. You trade. You make baby Pokemon and trade them for baby Pokemon you don't have.]

Mmm. [Actually, he'd never thought of it like that, but-] In my case, Aitaro - the father, again - dropped the egg off at my place. I'm sure the other three had similar stories. If you want a better reason, then I guess I'm just guessing.

[Though really, he's glad it happened like that]

Guess that's what happens when you don't have a daycare.

[If you're gonna breed your Pokemon, you better put them behind a damn fence. Or they'll dump their egg on the first sucker they find.]

So, what did you say your name was? [He said his name earlier so there's no need to repeat it]

[Static will be paid back with full retribution when he meets a fanboy of his own. For now, though...]

I'm Static. I mean, that's my superhero name, anyway.

Oh, so that's what's with the mask. It's pretty cool and all, but with the sorts you meet here, you can't be too sure.

[A superhero, huh. He has known many, many heroes here. But not too many super heroes. In spite of himself, he leans forward a little, a bit more attentive]

... you didn't think I was a supervillain, did you?

[He knows of three people who wear masks. Superheroes, Supervillains, and Mexican wrestlers. He's pretty sure he wouldn't pass for the latter, so...]

For all I knew, you're the phantom of the opera.

Wouldn't I just be wearing half a mask?

Oh, right. [He tilts his head thoughtfully and- yeah, he's right]

But a real superhero, huh? I guess you've got to avoid being public even here.

[systemshock]

Yeah. I mean, for all I know, you and me could be from the same world.

[generalflirt]

Probably not the same country, then. I feel like superhero Static would have made the headlines in Ikebukuro, otherwise.

Well, I'm no Superman. I'm not world famous or anything. Though I did save the world once. [...] Well, I mean, I helped.
