[Action]

[So Masaomi Kida has a plan today. Namely, he's out to kidnap (for her own good) Katara. There's a few times he could do this. He considers going for her before school... but he's not a morning person and neither is she. After school feels like too little time, so he's opted to pull her aside towards the end of lunch (to hopefully evade Sokka), saying that he has forgotten something (which'll later evolve into "show you something" among other excuses). Well, him and Linda (because he's taken to bringing the pichu along to school, lately) And from there... the adventure begins.

Hours of inane things ensue, not to mention a handful of not-quite arguments about how late it is getting. Feel free to run into them more or less anywhere: item shop, Azzip pizza, various floors of various community buildings,Rec Center, south side of town, north side of town, generally more or less anywhere. Chances are you won't even need to be the first to speak, because you run a good chance of running into them talking! This'll be any time between lunch break at school and oh, early evening

Right now. This week. I've seen you other weeks, Katara - if you want to tell me you're perfectly rested all the time, weeell...

[A pause, and he smirks] It's a lie.

Some weeks are harder than others.

[Like. Weeks after drafts. Or missions. Or when someone goes home. Or if she's been taking care of someone. Or studying late.]

But that's my concern, not yours. I'm not a child.

It might be the Masaomi-like thing to do, but that's not the Katara-like thing to do.

[She still doesn't know what this "Katara-like" nonsense means, and now he's applying it to himself?]

Let me paint you a picture. I'm tired and running around doing things with bags under my eyes [Rock, rock, and then a point at her chest]

Whaaaaat do you do.

[Congratulations, you've pricked her vanity.]

[ZOOOOOM in to get right in her face (seven centimeters) to check]

Masaomi! [She rears her head back and shoves his shoulder.]

Not at the moment, no.

[Okay, she's done. Katara abruptly stands. She's slightly flustered and oddly embarrassed and discombobulated.]

If you had to come in that close to check, you knew I was no where near that tired.

[She will now attempt to make her way around him.]

[He reaches his arm out and places it against something in her way. He's got a smile on, looking as non-threatening as he can]

No, it's near. Trust me, I can tell.

[She stops in front of his arm and turns her head to glare at him, probably about a half of a foot of space between them.]

How could you possibly tell.

[No, Katara. Bad. Stay on point.]

When you're more tired you have a number of habits. It's not that hard to tell.

[She gives him a long look, her mouth pressing a little more firmly together, before her gaze diverts to the door over his arm.]

If I don't go in soon, dinner will be late.

[No. Too cold. Too dismissive. Shutting down wouldn't be fair to him, not after the day they had - she'd said he could still be her friend, but it was. Oh, it was so hard. It weighed on her heart.

She turns, not just her head, but her whole body to face him, while remaining that same, sort distance away.]

I understand that you're concerned for me, and I did have a nice day, but I mean it, Masaomi. I don't want you to trick me again.

[Because the most disturbing part of it is that she really didn't mind being ticked half as much as she should. She wasn't really upset about it at all.]

[And he lowers the arm. For a moment, and then pulls up his arms to fold them behind his head, tilting his upper body to the side a bit to seemingly giver her more room]

Here's hoping I don't need to. I'm not about to keep you from dinner either~

[And in a sudden burst of appreciation and affection - and no, this isn't over, but she's taking the out right now - Katara takes advantage of the fact that he's temporarily unbalanced and disabled himself.

She quickly leans in to place a light, soft kiss on the cheek nearest the door.]

[She pulls back immediately, stepping towards the door in the same motion and speaks over her shoulder.]

I hope so too.

[Because somehow, she'll have to muster up will to deal with him tricking her very firmly, and she doesn't really want to have to do that.

But, you know, dinner is there to prepare.

Thank you for today.]

[ . . . Dumbfounded a moment, he just nods, lightly flushed from his awkward position and rights himself just in time for her to get towards the door Wow.

Well then. He'll just walk away. Waving at her as he goes-]

[Grinning ear to ear]
