[ Masaomi has made a promise to himself today. It's the Monday after Valentines and he's pretty sure he hasn't been shifted yet. He's also gotten a pretty disappointing chocolate turnout on Valentines probably - anyone is free to correct me if your characters gave something. And really, something Davis once said still weighs on him... Not that he can do anything about it this late in the game but he's going to be doing something special today:

While he's working at the Convenience Store or later in the day when he's hanging out around the square - not only is he going to flirt with almost every girl he can see, which isn't unusual, he is going to try to score as many actual dates as he can. Asking people out. Because why not? It'll be fun and chances are the plans will be put awry in the next week or two anyway.

So ladies, come at him. Or dudes come ask what he's doing or maybe join in on him. yolo swag ]

[ After a moment, she starts to laugh. Okay, she can try to play along if Masaomi wants to be silly. ]

[ She tries to sound indifferent, but there's a grin tugging at the edge of her mouth. ]

In Valentines past, there were loves which did not bear fruit...

You've got the wrong person, then. I'm not interested in any of the things that happened to me over Valentines.

[ Okay, so she's had some fun times in some of the "good weather" parts, but she feels that doesn't fall under "loves that didn't bear fruit." ]

Well I was hoping to know what your love life has been like. But if you're not feeling it, then you're not feeling it.

[ And he flips back his hand, takes a step back, and smiles ]

[ The mildly annoyed expression clears up at that. ]

I don't know how you expected me to figure that out from repeatedly asking me if I was sure.

[She shrugs.]

But maybe it's also because I don't really think of anyone's real love life when I think of Valentines, since I only found out about it here. I don't think you'd find mine very interesting, though.

[It had kind of gone on a nearly five-year hiatus, after all.]

What? I tend to think that the love life of any young woman is a fascinating concept. It's the springtime of youth, right?

[After a moment, she starts to turn a little red. It seemed like a reasonable thing to say when talking to Masaomi on the way out, but now that she's said it she feels kind of stupid for phrasing it like that.]

-- Never mind about that. But the only "past Valentines" I've had have been back home, not here.

[ And he reaches out now to hold up a green wrapped candy bar up in a closed fist to be his "thumb" - he has subtly picked one up to help with this joke ]

[ Her tone is light -- she's teasing. And then, trying to sound casual, she looks down and pretends to be occupied with smoothing out her dress. ]

Well...maybe there's someone else I'm hoping will pluck my....

[ She trails off and goes a lot more red. This one feels even stupider than her last. ]

Look, how do you talk like this with a straight face? I mean, I guess it's not exactly the sort of thing you say, but you use metaphors and the like a lot, or so it seems like.

[ As she starts to say that, he arches an eyebrow, making sure to keep a very significant expression set on her firmly. He sets the candy bar back on the shelf and when she finishes, he just chuckles ]
