[Action]
[So having got back from the mission on the late 23rd, Masaomi allowed himself roughly a day to detox. He didn't even really go to do his training regime. He just went around town seeing who he could talk to and generally enjoying being back in this village. Because he does, well... like it, these days. (if you want to have your character run into him on the 24th that's cool)
But sometime on the 24th or today on the 25th, he goes to visit Mikado... and Mikado's not there. He tries the journal, and he's- gone.
Gone home, that is. Again. He stares in shock for a moment, wondering what he should feel like. He's surprised by how he can't really feel anything but a general moroseness. He's not violently enraged like last time. He's not even totally sad, really. Mikado might have been his best friend at home, but he feels so incredibly distanced from that home, that life, and that destiny, going into the future, that he knows he's going back to. What he's learned and fought with Mikado about doesn't make it any better. So on the 25th, Masaomi seeks out Anri to talk with her before going to see if there's anything neat in the item shop. He then goes back to his apartment, having found something neat (feel free to run into him during this too if you want)]

Hey, Luceti. [Maaomi is now on the roof of his building. It's early evening, and he's propped the book up to see him sitting here in a chair. he has a flare gun in his hand and he's looking at the sky] It seems I'm the last man standing from Ikebukuro now. Weird how that works, huh?
[And then he points the flare gun straight up and shoots it - a flare into the night, like Men do (feel free to have your character action-react to a flare being shot up from the roof of C1 too). He then goes to cut off the recording
He then goes to send a message to MARS, in particular to CJ to try to summon him and haggle about a price on something]

He could reiterate that he thinks Masaomi is writing his off his own someday-future in that world too soon. The point's moot, though. Possibly forever, unless someone should show up and tell him how things go after.
(And he'll just think of it like this, rather than the other bit Masaomi threw in there. Because he does feel it, and he both loves and hates that feeling).]
This world just seems like a poor choice. If you had choices.
[Action]
[Smiling, he's looking up at the night sky now, and motions for Shikamaru to hand him another mountain dew. He should sit up]
And frankly, I have enough "hopes" and "wants" to get hung up on "ifs" on top of that.
[Action]
He falls backwards on his back, wings braced beneath his clothes for it, to extend his reach. Too lazy to get up now that he's already gotten down here.
When he said what he did, he'd been thinking of that experiment of Bil's. ...it won't awry, yes, but for a brief time people were anchored to other worlds. Maybe that could be possible permanently.
Masaomi once claimed this place as his home to him, months ago. What plans he could have for it, he's not sure. But Shikamaru manages to get his hands around a can then, and sits partway back up to hand it over.]

Hah]
[Action]
What are the 'ifs' and 'hopes' and 'wants', in this theoretical world where we go away and you're still here.

[But because Shikamaru isn't going to relent-] Given all we've seen [Just recently, at the Hospital-] ...I think I'd end up MSF.
[Action]
[But they fight. That war is still going on, even if Luceti isn't called into it as often these days. And they have other missions. Missions like those ones that landed their soldiers in the special wards at the hospital.
That bothers him comparatively less actually.]
But here you told me once you weren't a soldier.
[Action]
[He clicks his tongue, looking for words] ...But if my heart were ripped out, I think I could be.
[Action]
[Action]
[Action]
That's not an excuse to stop thinking of yourself. The worst soldiers are the ones who have nothing to lose. I've worked with a lot of guys like that. I don't want you to end up on the same path.
[If it ever comes to that. He makes a note that they'll have to step up some things though...]
[Action]
A heart doesn't have a limitation on how many people you can love, Shikamaru. Sure, I can see myself going there. But I've not got any intention of it.
[Action]
He breathes out. Enough of that. Doesn't take more than a sec to collect himself, and then he's sitting the rest of the way up and slinging one arm around Masaomi's shoulder.]
I haven't told you, have I?
[Action]
[...WITH THIS FACE. But no really what didn't you tell him?
[Action] No changed my mind
Never mind. Moment's passed.
[Action]
[Action]
Yeah. He'll save it for when it means something.]
It'll be better on a day when you can see what I'm talking about. You're too down for it now.
[Action]
[Action]
Still, you've probably had plenty of time to think about it to yourself today.
Even if you don't want to talk about it [because you keep changing the subject] I'll stick around and keep you company.
