[So having got back from the mission on the late 23rd, Masaomi allowed himself roughly a day to detox. He didn't even really go to do his training regime. He just went around town seeing who he could talk to and generally enjoying being back in this village. Because he does, well... like it, these days. (if you want to have your character run into him on the 24th that's cool)

But sometime on the 24th or today on the 25th, he goes to visit Mikado... and Mikado's not there. He tries the journal, and he's- gone.

Gone home, that is. Again. He stares in shock for a moment, wondering what he should feel like. He's surprised by how he can't really feel anything but a general moroseness. He's not violently enraged like last time. He's not even totally sad, really. Mikado might have been his best friend at home, but he feels so incredibly distanced from that home, that life, and that destiny, going into the future, that he knows he's going back to. What he's learned and fought with Mikado about doesn't make it any better. So on the 25th, Masaomi seeks out Anri to talk with her before going to see if there's anything neat in the item shop. He then goes back to his apartment, having found something neat (feel free to run into him during this too if you want)]

Hey, Luceti. [Maaomi is now on the roof of his building. It's early evening, and he's propped the book up to see him sitting here in a chair. he has a flare gun in his hand and he's looking at the sky] It seems I'm the last man standing from Ikebukuro now. Weird how that works, huh?

[And then he points the flare gun straight up and shoots it - a flare into the night, like Men do (feel free to have your character action-react to a flare being shot up from the roof of C1 too). He then goes to cut off the recording

He then goes to send a message to MARS, in particular to CJ to try to summon him and haggle about a price on something]

You think? [He's up here still, on the edge. He looks down, but the video isn't focused on him. It's actually still on the view and not looking at him] Because to me, it makes it all seem smaller, now that I have context.

What kind of context?

Seeing just how tiny this village is.

Yeah... I guess you're right. The view covers a big amount of the village, but it makes it look so small. Even someone who's really really tall or has the biggest muscles in the world wouldn't look so big from up there.

There's probably four hundred people in this stupid little enclosure, Aang-kun. [He snickers] Four hundred or so. I don't know all of them, but at a glance? I could identify all of them. But back in Tokyo, back in my stomping grounds, I couldn't know everyone on my street that well.

[The journal still is focused on the skyline, not on him, but his words become a little choked up here]

Isn't it sad?

You... you know more people here compared to your home.

In a city with over ten millions people in it, you'd be amazed how lonely it could be.

That's... so many people. Even bigger than Ba Sing Se. I'm... I'm sorry it's like that. But it's... not, here?

Are you saying that my world is something you need to apologize for, Aang-kun?

[Sharply, he says this, and the book shifts to viewing the ground as he leaps back onto the roof]

N-no, I mean... that I feel bad that it made you lonely.

Hmmm. Aang-kun, I know you know how it feels to be lonely when you're alone, but do you know what it is to be lonely in a crowd?

No... or, not in the same way you're thinking of. I... I felt alone with my people once they all knew I was the Avatar, because they all started to see as the Avatar instead of... as their friend or [family] anything. [He could go on, but it's not something he talks about that often - and he wants to focus on helping Masaomi with his problem.] But the kind of loneliness you're talking about... sounds different from that.

[Masaomi, leaping back from the edge entirely now, drops the journal on the ground as he bends over laughing. The journal might catch a glimpse of him as it thuds on the ground] Oh of course! That- [Hahaha] That's the loneliness of the exceptional! I'll never feel that!

[He's just going to stare, maybe a little glare at the camera while Masaomi finishes laughing. It's not exactly the label he'd apply to what he felt.]

Ahhhhaaaa. No, no. This is something else entirely. This is the loneliness is someone who's nobody.

Like... like a ghost. [Which reminds him of something else entirely that he doesn't bring up. His first time in the Spirit World, when neither Katara nor Appa could notice his spirit form in any way.]

Well, I still have feet, but that's the idea.

But... Mikado and Anri, they're your friends back home, aren't they?

[The book is now looking up his leg. It covers his leg and his arm, but not nearly his face or anything]

Yeah, sure, Aang-kun. [And with a nostalgic voice, which is sarcastic in actuality but it sounds sincere:] The perfect trio, us.

[Yeah, he's buying it.]

Like Katara, Sokka and me!

Mmmmhm. You're a wise man, just like that.

[Still sounding sincere. He's walking away from the journal now.]

...I am?

Are you still there?

Aang. Lay off him.

[There's not really a kind way to say that, so he doesn't bother looking for one.]

W-what? I wasn't trying to insult him or anything...

[Thirty minutes later, Masaomi's returning to this. He doesn't know about Shikamaru's intervention. He just knows he feels morose, he feels cold... and he really, truly, does not like Aang. And he wants to like Aang. He has tries (and often succeeded) month after month only to have Aang offend him. Only to have Aang belittle or insult him. He probably doesn't even mean it.

...That said...]

Aang-kun... I really do not like you.

[There's no finality in this tone though. It's a light, sincere comment. He has plenty more to say now]
