This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Masaomi anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

No matter when you ask me, I'm going to say it's symbiotic. Necessary. [He watches Linda intently as she says this. With some level of pride, even]

She's prideful and more than a bit of a handful. She also can get in over her head, so someone's got to reign her in. Green-san only hammered that point in more.

[And he still doesn't have his pokedex because of that]

I see. [Cilan nods in understanding.] I don't think there's anything wrong with having pride in your abilities, but knowing when to keep it from clouding your judgement is important, too. Even I have had to remember that sometimes, depending on the taste of the battle at hand. [His most significant losses in battle occurred when he had allowed himself to show-off a little too much, or even being blinded by pride or anger towards someone if his battle with Skyla was an indication.]

But in the case of obedience, it's not only important that Pokemon trust you, but that they also respect you as well. [Something that Green has likely told you as well, but he's not about to re-hash a lecture you might have already heard just yet.] The fact that you are aware of the need to keep her from getting too carried away is a positive sign.

Haah. That's one way of putting it, anyway.

[Maybe he's still bitter. He really shouldn't be projecting that sour feeling on to Cilan, because Cilan is someone genuinely nice and helpful even if he's a bit of a windbag. To that end, he just bites his lip after that before relaxing into watching Linda charge. It isn't pleasant to see her shock herself and one or two failed started but shortly after that, she manages to get enough voltage to shoot-

Well, nearly shoot one of the rocks. The lightning bolt from the thundershock reaches part way before it fizzles out]

[Oh...] I guess it may take a little more practice before it meets it's mark...

[Stunfisk blinks as then it turns it's attention to Linda, speaking briefly once more in it's Pokemon dialect. Do you want to take a break or try again? It's got enough electricity to spare for her to try maybe one or two more attempts at hitting the rock before it may need to call a temporary time-out itself to relax for a few seconds. Discharging and sharing electricity is hard work, you know.]

[She makes to say she would like to do more but Masaomi makes it over to her and touch her on the shoulder. We should break a little, at least. She sighs, and nods.]

Yeah, but it's progress.

[cilantro]

Mm, that's right. Progress of any kind is usually a good taste. [Cilan turns his attention to his own Pokemon now as well, leaning down for a moment to place a hand on it's back--we can't really pat it on the head or shoulder or whatever like a normal Pokemon, but...]

Thank you for your help, Stunfisk. It's very appreciated! [It's not a very emotive Pokemon either, but the Stunfisk actually does seem to smile for a second at that instead of it's usual blank expression.]

Maybe we can even show off the rock smashing move in a moment or three.

[This is mostly to assure Linda that they are going to do more cool things. Which she appreciates, perking up a little at the confirmation she isn't being a load or anything]

[what's that did someone say more cool Pokemon things--]

Oh, good! We're looking forward to seeing it. [Stunfisk makes a nodding motion in agreement as well, curious to see what it looks like too.]

She might need to rest a bit though, right?

[His tone is joking though - Linda sure as hell does not!! ...Or maybe she does, but bravado is three fourths of power, and she cements this idea by standing and then tapping her tail hard on the ground. It initially looks like it's going to turn into an iron tail but then it just glows instead - and with a front flip, she spins before slamming the tail down hard on the nearest rock.

It shatters. Or well, breaks apart at least - it's not quite perfected]

[Oh! You get some very modest clapping from Cilan at that.]

What an ambitious taste! I can see that Linda's developed an impressive amount of strength with her tail. [Stunfisk, lacking hands and the enthusiasm to clap even if it had hands, just makes a nodding motion in agreement to what it's trainer is saying, as Cilan examines the remains of the broken rock now, commenting further.] There's room for improvement, but it looks like you both have put a lot of effort into this technique--it may not be too long before it could be considered perfect, depending on how much more training is done with it.

Yeah... when she was left with her "tail" moves as the strongest things left to manage safely, we decided to work with that.

[Though he did have the idea of drawing out a charge when he himself was charged. Now, he just sounds a little sheepish, really]

Mm. But you don't have to thank us--we're happy to offer our opinion as a Pokemon Connoisseur! [He may be stuck here in Luceti, a world that has very little Pokemon in comparison to what he's used to, but he's still willing to use his knowledge and expertise to help in any way he can!]
