This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. [Paler still, because If that's true then that puts her whole thing with the "friends" into an entirely different context. He feels short on breath for some reason]

[Okay, now he's just speaking incoherently.

And she refuses to believe he might have somehow - door; chains; ice wall - got this in such a weird... and horrible way.

So she focuses on something else, because she's not even sure how else to respond.]

[Katara scowled at his thought bubble.

...not. entirely. not enough. There was something there, but... it wasn't enough, it was worlds away from being enough to hurt Aang and get his hopes up. He said love after all, and what she felt was only a certain... affection and attraction. Maybe enough to date him, if she didn't have other concerns. But she did. And that was that.

She leaves her hand on his shoulder, ready to reach out with the other hand to grab some water, in case he really did get sick.]

That's it, breathe nice and steady.

[Nice... and steady. He rights himself through the shock surprisingly fast, and now finds that his heart is racing. Oh, he didn't notice that earlier, right? Weird. Wow that...]

[She removes her hand.]

[...I can't believe he nearly fainted]

[His head shoots up now, flushed and indignant and wow]

[She can't believe they're having this conversation.

Even in the few times she thought about having this conversation with him, it never went like this.]

She takes a deep breath to go somewhere else, but he may not let her, so--]

Ah, then I'll just keep- [....No he really can't be calm right now, even if he's trying to do That Thing he does] - You like me?!

Stop it! [A hand comes down on the grass between them.] Why do you keep saying that? Because you think I'm jealous? Masaomi, I'm not jealous of Saki.

Fine, then you're not, [He still thinks she is. Maybe she's not? Given her disgust in Tokyo-- but it's a thought trail he only barely follows, because-] but how you're acting- that's why?! You realized you like me and so you friendzoned us?!

What?! Where do you get these things?

[Her brain-to-mouth filter is apparently gone]

That's not why I "friendzoned" us. What kind of person would that make me, to realize I could let us both be happy and then do the opposite "just because?"

[Now would be the time to strike back and redirect, but she's just scrambling for footing.]

It's not just because, it's throwing me- you- us under a bus out of an obligation you feel to Aang-kun!
