[This morning Mikado is gone.

More pressingly, his computer and most of the things in his room are gone too. Masaomi stares at it for a long while through the hole in the wall (covered by a sheet) dividing their two rooms when he went to check on Mikado today. As it stands... well. Well. There's a few possible conclusions, and they all fly into his head: kidnapped, kidnapped by someone else? Seduced-? all of them leave a foul taste in his mouth. Thus, eventually, he flips open the journal. His tone is flat, with an unhidden hint of threat in it-]

[... But he's too antsy to focus on just that. Instead, he's going to hit up all the likely hang outs- he's going to hit up all of the friends of Mikado's he knows the house/apart numbers of. Archie Kennedy, Anne, Shuri, Selphie. For good measure, he then will go to people he wonders might be useful - the clinic to see if he can't find Law-san or someone else there and then around to look for Shikamaru, even though he doesn't know where he lives. By the end of the day, he's just going to be looking in the windows of all the houses he can, and then going to the apartment doors of everyone he can and knocking on their door... progressively feeling more and more like hitting someone or something.

SO UH. Run unto him wherever ! He's feeling insane]

No, what you have is a one-track mind. You can't do anything for Mikado if you can't even take care of yourself.

[He just falls silent here, settling his face into a glare. He's still bound, or he'd have taken another swing, or maybe just have left]

Glare all you want - it doesn't change the facts. You're a good friend, Masaomi, but you need to get your priorities straight.

[Mikado is the priority. Without him there to weigh in, what does any of this really matter anyway?]

If you really don't get it, you shouldn't be out here. [He tightens the bind again, and flicks his wrist, making Masaomi throw the pen away like a kunai. It goes somewhere past the tree and out of sight.]

[STILL NOT ANSWERING STILL GLARING. He's not calming the down much either]

[This guy's about as troublesome as a girl. But fine.]

You have two options now. Go back to where you're staying. Blow off some steam at the barracks or the battle dome, or wherever it is that you go if you need to do that first.

[Flatly. He's still worried his jaw might not work like this, but he's pleasantly surprised when he can move it a bit]

Because you can't be trusted to without screwing it up.

It matters a lot more than you think, idiot. You say the most important thing is finding Mikado? How do you expect to do that if people keep stopping you because you're out here acting stupid? [He's actually concerned about worse, but let's use Masaomi!logic for now.]

[If Mikado is even here to find. For the time being, he'll take as if he were.]

[His gaze shifts as best as one can without moving their head to focus on Shikmaru's eyes, glaring daggers. But...]

I didn't take you for the sort to notice people's hearts, Shikmaru-kun.

[He says nothing to that, but gives a shrug. They're not here to talk about him.]

[This look.] There's that agreeable spirit I admire.

[Then again, his only real concern for him doing that is that Masaomi go somewhere to sleep tonight. If he doesn't want that to be the house Mikado disappeared from, so be it. So long as it happens. And he can always tail him, if need be.

So sarcasm aside, after another second of consideration, Shikamaru releases his jutsu, preparing to fight again if necessary as his shadow draws back into itself.]

[And as soon as he's free, Masaomi experimentally shifts postions, one step, another steps... roll the shoulders...

And then starts to stomp off. He'll go the Dome, sure, but then he's going to Katara's once all is said and done like he agreed]

[Shikamaru watches him go, then looks to the ground to find the list Masaomi had started writing and picks it up, smoothing it out to read it. He looks again in his direction, then puts the list in his pocket. He can search for Mikado while he looks for Itachi.

That and he said that he would look, so he will.]
