[ Her big wings are still unsettling to him, he can't lie. Reflex still has him feeling weird about it ] I don't know, if you had cute little ... hmm. Green ones, maybe?
[ . . . He shouldn't admit to her he's often imagined what color wings are under everyone's shirts, only to remember that there are no wings there. He wonders when he'll move past that. If he ever will ]
[She'd wondered if he'd been thinking about that last place he'd been. Feeling a bit friendly (and not woozy, of course not), she comes to sit by him on his bed.]
What color were yours?
[Also hi little Julia. Rin smiles at the baby Kangaskhan and reaches over to give her a pat on the head.]
[ . . . Man, this'll never not be a little bit embarrassing at least. Still, she was being sincere, so he can at least answer: ]
Pink. A very bright pink, as you could say my soul was.
[ Not really, but it sounds hammy enough to work. So he says it, though his cheeks do color a bit. Julia does lean into that though, scooting closer to Rin, and then making to climb up onto the bed to get between them. The little purpleish girl coos a bit to be touched. ]
Huh...? No, not really. I only met "this" Rin-kun we have here a few times, and I never really had a long chat with the one from Luceti. Most I ever said to the guy was praising his udon, I think.
[ Had he never...? ... Oh, right, this world's cycle (...was it even a cycle here? This could all be the first time. Probably was, really.) was only about a year old, maybe even less. He shakes his head and then, as simply as he can explain it, ]
There are some people I know who I've met many more than one iteration of, either because they went home and a different version showed up later, or some Shift produced a different version of them. It's the same thing here, the "Rin" ... Uh, what's his name, Okumatsu or something, right? Anyway, the version of him here isn't the same as the one who was in Luceti.
[So it's like Colin, if she understands it right. Funnily enough, right down to Rin Okumura as the example.
Wait, not quite. She realizes a major difference quickly.]
So rather than traveling across space and time yourself, the place you came from acted as an hub and brought fragments of those alternate worlds to you.
All worlds, times, places, and dimensions are linked to that world, or at least that's what the Organization was pretty sure of. The reason my enclosure was strange though is that we were able to leave in the way I just said.
[She doesn't miss the implications of that — that others weren't so lucky, that it must have been as accidental as their arrival, given everything he's told her before — but she's honestly too tired to go into it. Actually, if she were to come clean, her interest is a clinical one for what she could potentially learn about Second Magic from it.
It doesn't say anything good about her, that what a trying experience it must have been for him is only her second passing thought, but she's always known she's an awful person like that. Smiling, Rin steers the subject away from both thoughts.]
[ He says this quickly, because if he ever met anyone as vibrant as this Tohsaka girl she would stand out in his memory, right? If he tried to process it further, he would realize that he was concurrent with a Rin Tohsaka very early in his stay, and might've winked at her from across the street or something. But in terms of having "met" her? There's no way, not really. ]
I've not "met" too many people's iterations, one of the only stand out ones is Zuko-chan.

What? Is there something on my back?
[She doesn't think that's it at all (or at least hopes not, aha...), but it's an out for him.]

[ It's the first thing he thought of, sue him. ]

Pass. I couldn't pull them off as stunningly as that bird lady.
[Plus from the way they met, she thinks wings would hurt a lot.]

[Yeah, neither that nor the obvious that they're not always the "same".]
