[ And he theatrically flips the cards until they're on display at the ends of his index and middle fingers. There's an Ace of Hearts and an Ace of Clubs. both cards have hard TRUTH written on them in black sharpie ]

"Truth or Truth"? [...Huh.] That's certainly an interesting title for a game.

[Weavile definitely wants to play a game and eagerly bounds up to Masaomi with much more optimism than his trainer that's taking his time.

He wonders, honestly, if Silver's heart can handle it. More than anyone else so far, he thinks this. So he's perhaps a little less theatrical than he was with the others, because his face does briefly flash to pensive. But then he smirks, and leaps down, crouching so that he's definitely looking up at him as he spreads wide the two cards between both hands. Ace of Hearts. And Ace of Clubs. With TRUTH written on both ]

Then this'll be a game to challenge both of our hearts.

[ And in a flourish of movement, Masaomi pulls the Ace of Hearts to slide it into his breast pocket, as he is pulling into a half-bow and holding out the the Ace of Clubs to Cilan ]

We'll take turns asking someone Truth or Truth, and ask something of each other. And it goes until someone's heart can't handle the light of Absolute Truth. That seems like a fitting game for this mood, doesn't it?

[TRUTH, huh.

This isn't going to be a fun game, is it?

Silver reaches down to Weavile to pet his head- it's more for his own comfort than his Pokémon.]

Hm... [Fitting for the mood, huh? Cilan looks down at the Ace of Clubs for a moment before he nods.]

Yeah, it does seem rather fitting. [But is this even really a game?] Did you want to go first, or should I?

Yeah, all because Hamlet was a big jerk who didn't know what he wanted!

Mm... [He frowns as he thinks it over, remembering all of his defeats over the years and one that stood out above it all.]

I cannot say that I definitely feel that I have been on the 'brink' of death in the past, but at home, the closest would be the time when Gaara-kun defeated me. He... he broke half of my body, and I was unconscious for a long time. Perhaps... the surgery I went through afterwards could count as well. Even though it succeeded in letting me fight again, it was an operation that came with a high risk of death.

[ No. Not it is not - but tat's not really te point of this game. Masaomi slips the Ace of Hearts into his breast pocket, pressing his hand over it so as to give himself strength. And in much the same movement, he offers Silver the Ace of Clubs. ]

We'll take turns asking each other Truth or Truth - and it'll be responded to with the spirit of Absolute Truth. And we'll go up until one of our hearts can no longer bear it.

I'm a warrior right now, Cilan-san. [ And he presses a hand over the breast pocket he's slipped the Ace of Hearts into. Because that's what he is doing now - he's challenging not just Cilan, not just everyone else who is coming... but himself. He's challenging fate to a battle, putting himself up against whatever it sees fit to through at him. But at the same time, he's also surrendering.

So, it's only fitting, ] Naturally, I wouldn't begin a challenge like this without being prepared to suffer the first blow.

Oh, is that how you read it...? Isn't he actually someone who definitely know what he wanted? And he pursued that path, stumbling all of the way there.

And yet, through it all... you never felt that you might fall? Did you have a strong sense of certainty, or can you just not face that possibility...

Really? I felt like he loved her and then decided she was bad for him and ran away. A girl's gonna feel rejected if a guy does that without explanation!

I don't know how safe it is to speculate about this stuff... [but these are just hypotheses, not a plan of action]

And I don't know enough about the nature of the organism. Depriving it of food seems the most obvious answer-- but that's exactly what it's best adapted to prevent.

[somehow this whole damn situation is making a kind of sense it never made before, since beginning to think of Luceti itself as an organism]

I suppose what happens after depends on how closely the planet and its-- [organism, consciousness, will?] heart are really bound.

Love, oh sure, but maybe his capacity to deal with love was taken by his uncle as well. There's a nation at stake, after all.

[ He wonders really, about that. How strong love is.. he'd thought in the past it was an unstoppable force. Then he found proof it was not. Where does he stand now...? ]

I personally doubt a planet can live without it's hearts. After all, there's a big void of nothingness out in space around us, maybe it'll just crumple into so many rocks... or it could be less dramatic.

[ He hums ] Either way, it sort of feels like it might be surrendering something to leave it unfinished.

What do you think "finished" would look like?
