[Action -- BACKDATED to Day 1 -> 9 (April 8th -> April 17th)]

[ (basically because we both failed to get in on week 1 of the event in the log, oops, but bring in all your stuff go for it)

So Merlin hid the sword Excalibur which would name the prince the rightful king of Luceti. He hid it in the heart of a beautiful young maiden. Or maybe it was an old woman. Or a man. Actually, he's not even sure about the beautiful part. But the point is that someone out there somewhere has Excalibur in them and it's just waiting to be pulled out Utena and/or Guilty Crown style depending on your poison. And right now both the wizard and the prince are out to try to find it and claim his crown as the once and future king.

Masaomi, our prince, is dressed more or less like this. Shikamaru, our wizard, is dressed more or less like this. And the both of them are on a quest to find the person who has Excalibur inside of them so they can pull the sword from the ~~stone~~ person. For much of this adventure, they are together. However, as is wont to happen with this event, the two do seem to keep getting regularly teleported away from each other. Or sometimes teleported together, so the point is that you can find them absolutely anywhere from your closet to the streets to the middle of the mountains.

A truly riveting and classic fairy tale. ]

[ Okay, technicals: We do want only one person to actually be able to have the sword pulled out of them, and we leave it open to the first person who calls dibs. But beside that, you can have them pull many other things out. Such as, say, a broom. Or a poleax. Or an assault rifle. All of them will vanish after the event if they are any dangerous like that, it's meant to be a gag. Obviously, as per the fairy tale this is vaguely based on, only Masaomi can pull out the sword, but Shikamaru (

endgames) can pull out anything else. You can request to have one or the other, or you can have both in a threeway. Just label it in the subject header ]

[Vash was making good use of that playground while he was here where he was allowed to run around. It had taken him some time to get the hang of the swing, but now that he had he was pumping his legs with all the energy he can muster. Higher, higher, and higher! It was really exciting until suddenly there were people teleporting right in front of his swing.

Startled the little boy slams his feet down to the ground, grinding his speed to a sudden and violent halt. It saves him from completely crashing through the newcomers, but he's still going too fast and he ends up toppling out of his seat and onto the ground.]

OOF!

[Normally the skinned knees and palms would have him in tears, but he's just too distracted by the people who had literally come out of nowhere wearing strange clothes.]

Um... hello?

Whaaay, where are we now-- oh. Playground.

[ And he dusts himself off, looking a a little haggard. He doesn't even notice the kid immediately, because he's too busy doing that and pulling a little bit of leaf out of his hair. Given until then they had been teleported up a tree. or at least he had, and it was awkward ]

[Shikamaru adjusts his hat - what do you know, the one hat in the world that can accommodate his good hair style - and is considerably quicker on the uptake from where he sits, balanced on the seesaw.]

My liege... [He states this simply, glancing at the little boy who greeted him. Did he put the sword in this kid...? Seems kinda small for it. Oh well. Not wanting to frighten him, he waves at the child.]

[Vash waves back as he pushes himself to his feet. He stares at the two while brushing the dirt off of his knees.] You need to be careful around swings! I'm glad I didn't kick you. How did you get here so quickly?

[Little... girl? Oh well, he ends up smirking a little and tries to sound charming ]

I am sorry, child! I didn't meant to startle you. It's magic.

[...Well, if you're still looking for a "beautiful young maiden", perhaps your search will finally pay off on the last day, since that is when this lady has suddenly started appearing around town. She can currently be found standing outside of the tea shop, perhaps contemplating going inside...

...Just, uh, try not to knock her down if you end up teleporting anywhere near her, that dress looks like it would be difficult for her to get back up on her own... ^^;;]

If you can call it that. [Because he is apparently an expert on these things now, or something. He brushes some dust off his shoulder, managing to look annoyed.]

[He grows excited when Masaomi mentions that it was magic, but dips when Shikamaru says that it is not.]

Aw, isn't it? It sure seemed like magic! Appearing out of no where like that! It was really cool!

I dunno, his guy's the magician here.

[ Jerking a thumb at shikmaru. He can explain ]

[ BUT THEN HE RUNS UP TO THIS WOMAN!! And he stops abruptly! And it ends up throwing the crown off of his head and it ends up at her feet. Oops ]

Excuse me, ma'am!

[The clatter of the crown at her feet certainly startles her out of her thoughts as she turns to look. Guess it belongs to this young man right here, so you'll now have her undivided attention.]

Oh my, perhaps you should be more careful of your surroundings... [But she seems to let it slide since she stoops down a little to pick up the crown that had ended up at her feet (miraculously not falling over as she does so) and holds it up to him.] I take it that this is yours, correct?

[And Shikamaru comes trailing behind a few moments later - Masaomi had taken off so quick, he'd not realized at first where he'd gone. Luckily he's loud enough that the "wizard" spots him quick, and aims to catch up.]

I couldn't agree more with the lady, sire. Another object to search for is the last thing we need.

Not that it was my doing. If it is magic, whoever's performing it could use finer control. We've been disappearing and reappearing at random.

Oh. Is someone playing a trick on you? [And more importantly!] Could you teach me some magic?

Probably. After all, we do have a few enemies. Probably.

Eeesh, yeah, yeah. That's mine. You'd think they could glue these things to your head.

[ Apparently he's not great at playing a role...

Oops...

But he takes the crown from her all the same ]

[The lady nods, as she then seems to be looking over the two of them curiously.]

Now then, who might you gentleman be? [She can already gather by appearances that Masaomi may be royalty and that Shikamaru is someone of the magical arts, but that doesn't actually tell us who you are.]

It'd be safer after the fact. We're looking for something, you see.

I am Merlinmaru, wizard for the Crowned Prince of Luceti.

[He nods his head in subservience to Masaomi.]

You are? What are you looking for? I'll try to help you find it!

We're looking for a sword! Actually, t'would be more accurate to say it's the sword! But we also have forgotten where we put it!

[ And he reaches out now to put a hand on Vash's shoulder . . . ]

And that would be me, Masathur.

Ah, I see. [She nods. Very legit names there.]

It's an honor to meet the two of you. I am Princess Cilanor, from the kingdom of Striaton. [This very legit name and introduction is accompanied by a very formal curtsy.] Allow me to say that your kingdom has been quite a curious place to stay in since my arrival, but no less accommodating. You have much to be proud of, Prince Masathur.

[The detour involving some less than pleasant dealings up by the shrine was not quite as enjoyable, but those two boys that helped us, Gold and Silver, were certainly heroic.]

Oh, forgive me. I had not realized we had such an important guest, princess.

[He bows, hoping both will accept that as apology. Wow he sucks at this job.]

Indeed, it may be anywhere within the kingdom. Or, anyone.

Oh! You shouldn't just leave a sword around and forget about it! Someone could get hurt on it!

[Wait. Did he just say anyone? He must have meant anyone could have it.] I haven't seen a sword. I'm sorry.

Oh, actually-! It's not going to be anywhere so obvious at that. [ He smiles, and then leans in closer to the bow. Smirking a bit ]

The place is pretty well hidden, even from the likes of me and him.

Oh, I was in the dark about that too. I'm glad that you've enjoyed your stay thus far, though.

[ He too bows just a little, but then gets on his knee so he can kiss her hand ]

[He'll just let the prince explain, that's easier.]

[Vash doesn't pull away as Masaomi leans in closer. His personal bubble being nearly non existent even at this age.] Yeah? How are you going to find it? And why is it hidden? Did someone take it from you? [He wants to say an adult took it, but these two are adults. Do adults take things from other adults?]

It was hidden so no one else could find it, and.... we hid it inside of someone's heart! So we need to try to pull it out of numerous people, and I'm confident it'll be a beautiful woman!

[ffff okay that does cause her face to turn a little red--]

My, aren't we feeling bold today... [But she seems to accept it in stride.] But it's alright, there is no need to apologize. My arrival here was quite unexpected, actually, but I suppose this meeting can be considered a happy accident, so to speak.
