[ Masaomi has made a promise to himself today. It's the Monday after Valentines and he's pretty sure he hasn't been shifted yet. He's also gotten a pretty disappointing chocolate turnout on Valentines probably - anyone is free to correct me if your characters gave something. And really, something Davis once said still weighs on him... Not that he can do anything about it this late in the game but he's going to be doing something special today:

While he's working at the Convenience Store or later in the day when he's hanging out around the square - not only is he going to flirt with almost every girl he can see, which isn't unusual, he is going to try to score as many actual dates as he can. Asking people out. Because why not? It'll be fun and chances are the plans will be put awry in the next week or two anyway.

So ladies, come at him. Or dudes come ask what he's doing or maybe join in on him. yolo swag ]

Aww. Well, I guess I'll find something then. Maybe I'll hit up the library again after a drink or two. [Wait. The drinks. Right, that's why they were here.

And with suddenly remembering this...] Oh, right, should probably grab them first huh? [She scratched the back of her neck, laughing lightly in a sheepish manner. How in the world did she forget?]

Yeah. I just happened to get caught up into the conversation. [ And he makes to get up ] I'll get the drinks, what do you have in mind?

Ah, the one you suggested earlier. The Going Merry I believe?

One for each of us, then. I'll give it another go.

[ TO THE BAR. It'll be a while, but eventually, two Going Merries. Orange juice, grenadine, tropical fruit juices, rum, and crushed ice, topped with ginger ale and a fruit boat to garnish. And with one in each hand, he's got them back to place opposite of her ]

Sweet, let's give this a try then. [She's certainly eager, and it's quite obvious with how grabby her hands are. Though she's only going to take a test sip of it, just to see if she likes it at all.]

Mmmhm, and bottom's up! [ And with that, a long sip! Hyoooo. In his case, he's had it before and this is fruity ]

[Her test sip just turned into a chug. Yeah, she definitely enjoys the drink, enough to the point where she downs half the glass before finally putting it down.]

Haha, wow, that's actually a lot better than I was expecting!

Glad to hear it. [ Wow he did not expect that. But he does still sip some more from his own glass. Wwooo ]

Hmm. They wouldn't happen to serve these in bigger glasses would they? [Because now she's got an idea, well, remembering one at least.]

Of course they do - they have big beer mugs too, you know.

Good, this means the next time I'm here with a group of people, then I can get a contest going. [So long as they're up for it of course.]

A contest? I do hope you don't mean guzzling a cocktail, because I'd feel bad for the staff then.

I've learned that anything besides a cocktail isn't really my thing. So yes, I do mean guzzling one, with about nine other people. Such was something my fellow crew members did, though they I could never partake because of what they used would probably kill me. [Quite literally actually. They drank alcohol that was black market worthy.]

Oh jeez. -- You mention a crew though, does that mean you've been on a ship for a while?

[ To turn this back to being personal, as he swirls his own drink on the table ]

That's right, a starship to be more specific. I was still on board until I got dragged here. [She pauses to take a sip of her drink, and to open up a bit of room for another question.]

Oh? [ His eyes do widen a little. But he reigns it in and- ] Where I'm from that would require a lot of specifications - so am I in the presence of a genius here?

[Karis nearly chokes on her drink from that question. Her? A genius? Oh that gave her a good laugh, thankfully her drink doesn't go through her nose.]

Haha, no. Operating the defense systems doesn't really require genius status. However, some parts do require the use of magic, namely some of the shields, but that's not my department. I'm more of a weapons kind of girl. [She does love a good weapon.]

Magic? So you guys got into space with robes and wizard hats?

[ Oh that's curious!! ]

No. Robes and hats create no protection against bullets and other magic. If a mage were to wear anything like that, then they're just putting a giant target on themselves and will be mowed down by the enemy. [Robes were only acceptable in any sort of setting that didn't involve combat, and in her "profession" a fight could break out at any moment.]

The enemy, huh?

Yeah, it's best not to talk about them though. [Otherwise there will be a very angry mage that'll be ready to bite heads off. The topic infuriated her, and she wanted to avoid it as much as possible.]

[Oh archmages she's not good when it comes to asking questions outside her default ones. Come on Karis, you can do it.]

Hmm. Are you familiar with magic at all? Outside of Luceti that is. [Or fall back on the default question, that works too.]

Not so much. My world has monsters that few have ever seen though, and magic's been a myth forever - so who knows.
