[Shikamaru was on the mission until a few days ago and it rattled him, he could tell. Green's relative showed up recently, but before that they'd been doing a bunch of training... which pushed back his normal training, personal fitness, and ninja stuff with Shikamaru. Gold was gone. He was still trying as he could to avoid Sakura, probably because he still wasn't entirely sure where he stood with her or with ... other parties.

Life was complicated, basically, and he found himself again longing to return to the comparative simplicity of Ikeburkuro. Or maybe just his own ignorance at the time. He thought then that he'd experienced the darkness, and while he didn't want to make light of what happened to Saki or how much the betrayal from Izaya still stung... when it came down to it, he had no idea how dark things could get. None at all. Or so he thought now.

Also, his zappyness had faded from the kidnapping, but Linda's electricity still isn't back up to par. Actually, it's still floundering around... well, frankly, lower than it was when she was born. She was born with a lot of potential, and while she can now pull off the careful stuff they've trained with (Magnet Rise, Flash, etc) she can't even pull off a proper thundershock. He knows she's been looking at the thunderstone in his room more and more, but he can't help but think that would compound the problem. A problem he's been trying until now to keep under wraps as much as possible, for her pride and because of his fear Green'll take her from him over it.

So what was he doing?

Well, him and his Pikachu are getting some exercise. It's not particularly icy today, so they do it outside, running around town and leaping up trashcans and walls to roofs, swinging off lamp posts, and in Linda's case floating some. Basically, parkour/free running as much as is possible in an almost-rural town like this. It's making him miss the urban environment even more, but it does feel nice to show off a little with the stamina and strength which now backs up the balance he's always had. Sure, the both of them mess up now and again, but more often than not (sometimes with some chakra help) they pull off some crazy leaping stunts. What's more, as the day drags on of them doing this, he and his mouse get progressively more in sync as the joy of showing off and doing crazy stuff overrides both of their degrees of shame.

So run into them doing that all over, but mostly centered around the plaza.

That night, he settles in for a meal at Seventh Heaven. He should go home or hang out at the Convenience Store, but he decides he'd rather eat out right now. So him and Linda go in to eat there. He also pulls out his journal and considers something...]

So, is anyone planning things for White Day? [Not that he's expecting it, but. There, he's reaching out more]

He finishes his current bite before he cleans up some and clicks reply, chortling] March 14th, the day of infamy in which men pay back the favor women played them on Valentines. Ooor so it should go. Around here, Valentines is too cursed for it to be taken too literally.

The usual. Make a rum cake, get drunk, stack rocks, and wallow in self-loathing and hatred for the passing of time.

[Aang had seen little of Masaomi since the electricity incident - and he knew little of whatever he was up to during Valentines. But this seems like a nice, neutral subject to talk to him about. He always likes to hear about holidays.]

White Day? I've never heard of that holiday. What's it like?

If you ask me, the absence of it would be "foreign" - but I'll settle for saying it's "Japanese."

The day men pay back the adoration girls showered on them for Valentines. March 14th, one month later.

I'm kind of doing it backwards this year. I got something for Valentine's Day and so I'm the one doing the payment back. I won't bend the rules next year though!

What's White Day?

[Oak is taking a small stroll around the village, taking his time to adjust as he eyes the many shops and homes Luceti happen to have. It isn't Pallet Town by far, but it's a place where he can eat, sleep, and be... no. One can't be merry in a place like this, not when you have to fight a war and be forced to participate in who knows what else. But there's no point in thinking about it either. It is what it is, so he's going to attempt to enjoy himself while ignoring the negative side of being inside a bubble and away from home.

He was about to head over to the fountain when he noticed something above him. A young boy and a... Pikachu(!!!) leaping from place to place as if they were doing some kind of aerial gymastics. While their stunts are impressive, he's more focused on the yellow rodent. He didn't think there are other novice trainers around other than Hiccup, so this is quite a surprise to see another in Luceti. Needless to say, this gives Oak all the more reason to get the young man's attention, and he did so by calling out to him]

You there, young man! Can you come here for a minute?

You're violating some venerated old traditions there. Maron-chan! You're cashing some serious checks.

In Japan, the way we handle Valentines is that girls give chocolate to some fellows they like. In return, the guys give a thank you give a month later, March 14th.

[Masaomi's actually sweating a little as he makes the last touch down, having kicks off a street lamp to leap between the roofs ot two buildings. Yes, he has to use chakra to help in it, but Linda had to float on a Magnet Rise to work it out too, so it seems only fair. Still, he grins and high-fives the mouse before letting out a long exhale- when he wears the voice.

He'd heard that voice on the journal.

He finds it hard enough to get along with Green sometimes, and this guy, as near as he can tell, is one of Green's relatives - and an older one at that. He does not think this'll end well for him. But he's also resigned. Linda nods and the both of them leap off the roof, the mouse catching them in a Magnetic Field at the ground (she's proud that she can at least do this) before scurrying up onto his shoulder so they can walk over to Oak]

[Oak was watching the two the entire time and was surprised at what he'd seen thus far. The Pikachu was using moves that he haven't seen before, which is definitely new subject material fitting for his research... that is, if he had a lab.

While that's out of the question(for now), he can at the very least take down notes in his journal. But that's for another time, as that wasn't the reason why he called them]

As for Masaomi, he folds his arms behind his head and smiles a little. Linda also flops onto his head as opposed to his shoulder. Note that she has a black hair tuft between her ears, ala Gold (like so)]

She hatched in my arms, actually.

[Oak noticed the resemblance, but has yet questioned it. Though it reminded him of a Pichu Gold hatched back in Johto who happened to have a similar look(though not black in color). Could it be that Gold had something to do with the hatching of this Pokemon? Possibly so; he is the Breeder after all]

I see. And who are her parents?
